Autumn Trends
October 2017
Stylish revamp for the cooler months

From seasonal pastel colours to wood detailing, this autumn is all about making your bathroom a warm and inviting environment and a cosy room in which to relax and unwind.

The new season is the perfect time to give your bathroom a stylish revamp and there are a number of trends to look out for when planning improvements ahead of the colder months.

Lisa Jepson from Willbond Bathrooms says, “There’s nothing better than a hot, cosy and relaxing bath during winter, and autumn is a great time to plan ahead and add a new touch or look to your bathroom. There are a great range of new trends this season that will give your bathroom a luxurious and calming atmosphere.”

Here are this autumn’s top trends for the bathroom.

Perfect pastels
Pretty pastel colours aren’t just for celebrating spring – this year they’re getting an autumn makeover with shades of green, orange, pink, yellow and purple. To brighten up your bathroom for the new season, think about adding a standout feature wall with paint or bright patterned wallpaper or tiles. If you’re looking to give your bathroom’s existing features a facelift, add a lick of paint to a standalone bath or simply replace towels or accessories for shots of colour.

Stay cosy
Under-tile heating is the ultimate technology for autumn bathing and ensures your bathroom feels warm and cosy during the colder months. They are also a great alternative to radiators, are simple to install when tiling your bathroom and help with condensation. Your bathroom will feel cosy and luxurious for bare feet.

Shimmer and shine
If your bathroom is slightly on the smaller side, a trick to creating the illusion of space is using reflective surfaces. This autumn, surfaces with a touch of shimmer and shine are bang on-trend, with hints of metallic and glossy finishes. Mirrors are also great bathroom accessories – by reflecting light, the right mirror will enlarge any part of your bathroom, adding ambience.

Luxury bubbles
Adding a whirlpool bath is a quick way of turning your bathroom into the ultimate pampering zone. From ancient Egypt and Greece, to India and the Roman Empire, the uplifting powers of bathing in water energised with air have long been recognised. While it’s getting colder outside, there would be nothing better than sliding into a hot bath surrounded by gentle bubbles that knead your muscles.

Wood detailing
If you’d rather tone things down a little in your bathroom, then texture is the key to achieving a natural feel this autumn. Wood is a great tactile material that creates a relaxing spa-like ambience, with the wood effect also being available for ceramic tiles. Whether it’s your floor or your walls, it will give that simple chic Scandinavian feel.
